WIA Youth Services

The WIA Youth Program is one of three federal programs funded through the Workforce Investment Act to assist workers in finding meaningful, family-sustaining employment.  Eligibility information and list of services provided are below.  For more information about the WIA Youth program, contact Rose Lund, (920) 720-5600.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the WIA Youth Program, youth must be low-income, ages 14 through 21, and must face one or more of the following challenges to successful workforce entry:

  • School dropout
  • Basic literacy skills deficient
  • Homeless, runaway, or foster child
  • Pregnant or a parent
  • An offender
  • Need help completing an educational program or securing and holding a job.

The WIA Youth Program consists of two sub-programs: In-School and Out-of-School Youth.  Youth who are currently attending school will be enrolled in the In-School program.  Youth who have graduated or attained their GED will be enrolled in the Out-of-School program.  Drop-outs will be enrolled in an Out-of-School program designed to help them complete their GED/HSED.
