WIA Dislocated Worker Services

The WIA Dislocated Worker Program is one of three federal programs funded through the Workforce Investment Act to assist workers in finding meaningful, family-sustaining employment.  Eligibility information and list of services provided are below.  For more information about the WIA Dislocated Worker program, visit the Wisconsin Dislocated Worker website or the Department of Labor Dislocated Worker website or contact Cheryl Welch, (920) 720-5600.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for the Dislocated Worker program if you meet any of the criteria below:

  • Have a permanent layoff from a job with no recall date
  • Have been laid off or received notice of layoff due to a plant or facility closing
  • Was (or are) self-employed as a farmer or trade or business person and are in the process of "going out of business"
  • Was providing unpaid services to family members in the home and were dependent on another family member, but are no longer supported by that income.

  • Job Seeking Skills
  • Resume Writing
  • Pre-Vocational Skills
  • On-the-Job Training
  • Additional Training Services (including skill upgrades and entrepreneurial training)
  • Supportive Services (such as childcare and transportation)
