P.O.W.E.R. Program - Paths to Older Worker Employment Readiness (Older Worker Demonstration Grant)

The P.O.W.E.R. Program will help address the workforce challenges facing individuals age 55 and older by providing training and education that results in employment and advancement opportunities in high growth, high demand industries critical to the regional economy.

Eligibility

The Applicant must be:

• Age 55 or older.
• Seeking full-time employment or advancement opportunities in current employment with the goal of full-time employment.
  • Attend an orientation.
  • Choose a career pathway and participate in a career cohort.
  • Complete a nationally accredited certificate/diploma/degree through an area technical college program.
  • Participate in job readiness training, including preparing a professional resume, learning techniques to a successful interview, and others.
  • After entering employment, participate in a 12-month follow-up.
  • Become a mentor for new participants
• A resident in the county of Outagamie, Winnebago, Calumet, Waupaca, Waushara, Green Lake or Fond du Lac.
